The Boone Gallery
at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art

The renovation of the 10,000-square-foot Boone Gallery - as prelude to Made in California: NOW, the largest exhibition in LACMA's history - involved converting a traditional museum gallery into a studio-like environment with exposed concrete floors, an open plan and previously nonexistent storage space. In addition, art-making areas were developed, age- and ADA-appropriate furniture was designed and built, and a public information room created to present print, video and interactive tools.

During the year-long exhibition, which involved eleven contemporary artists, the Boone Gallery hosted over 100,000 visitors - making it, not only LACMA's largest show, but one of its most successful.
